Running a Boston ER is controlled chaos. Falling into a dying dimension and landing at the feet of a seven-foot demon medic? That requires a totally different triage protocol.

I’m a nurse, not an interdimensional traveler. But in a sunless realm where humans are enemy number one, my only shield is the terrifying demon who scoops me up.

Torik is a mountain of sweeping wings, lethal horns, and a rugged dad bod. He’s a deeply grumpy, solitary healer who spends his lonely days with his pet lizard. He’s also the most infuriatingly stubborn male alive. 

Now, we’re trapped together in his rustic clinic, two fiercely dedicated medical professionals clashing over everything. He barks orders for me to stay hidden from other demons; I can’t just sit quiet while there are patients to save.  

He refuses to let me lift a finger, but when I ignore him and do it anyway, those clawed hands are devastatingly gentle when he washes the grime from my curls, or pulls me against his broad chest in his single bed just to keep me warm.

Giving in to the blistering heat between us—and his very, very accommodating demon anatomy—is a dangerous game when one wrong move could get us both killed.  Because once this grumpy monster claims my heart, I might just burn the portal home.
